Duke von Dobern

Duke von Dobern is a very handsome 6 year old German Shepherd would like to tell you his story:
“Dear Everybody – My name is Duke and let me tell you my Christmas tale. One day, my younger brother and I got to wandering off and, before we knew it, we ended up at this scary place called the shelter. I knew my Dad would come and get us and he did! Except when he came to our cage, they only let my little brother out and Dad walked away with him and didn’t even glance back at me. I didn’t know what to do so I barked out to him, ‘Hey, you forgot me, Dad.’ I cried doggie tears in my cage that night and thought my life was over. But then someone else came to the shelter. There was much excitement because they arrived in what the other dogs were calling ‘The Westside Freedom Van.’ It was my LUCKY DAY; I was the recipient of the Christmas gift I was hoping for -- a ticket out of the shelter! Hours later I arrived at a special place called ‘the rescue’ and met the nicest volunteers. They take me for walks and compliment me on my leash manners. Everyone seems to enjoy my outgoing nature and how well I get along with all the two-legged and four-legged beings. I hear them say nice things about me too, like ‘Duke appears to be housebroken,’ which sounds neat! My tail has not stopped wagging since I arrived. Now I know that my story isn’t over. I know I have more chapters and I hope they are with you. Please make my wish come true and fill out an application for me -- Duke. They tell me I deserve the happiest of endings and I hope you agree."
